Best Gingerboys Eveerrrr...

Baking frenzy over the past couple of days...Oh Noooo!! :)

The above cookie was a recipe I got from Elise's Blog... I wanted to make ginger cookies & I was looking for a reliable recipe. So, of course when she posted this, I printed it out to use! It was so easy. I never follow a recipe exactly, though, so I enhanced the spicyness of the cookie by adding a little more ginger, nutmeg, & clove. Mmmm...

I dipped my ginger cookies in a glaze made of lemon juice, eggnog, butter, and powdered sugar. Then I decorated them with buttercream frosting, made with butter, shortening, vanilla, eggnog, powdered sugar, & meringue powder.
The dough was so easy to roll out and bake. The final product tasted divine as well! I forgot how much I love the smokiness of molasses and the spices and the lemon all together.

I put chocolate chips in some of them.

And some of them I made into Christmas Trees...

First I see G has made lovely cupcakes and now I see that you have made wonderful cookies.

Like I told him, I am inspired by you baker-types!

I love ginger and chocolate together. I just never knew how much I liked ginger until CB hooked me on it last year...

Yeah, Melly, it's actually Garrett that brings out the baker in me, too. I see what he is doing and am inspired by his energy and "shibbyness". Also, I am totally swiping B's recipe for biscotti to make on NYE... :)
