Latitudes Restaurant in Auburn is hosting a food and wine pairing event to highlight Placer County Wines Tuesday, June 22nd beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Auburn.
The reception-style event, which marks the official launch of the new Placer County Wine Trail, will pair wines from over a dozen Placer County vintners with food from around the globe. Examples of the pairing menu include such faire as African Seafood Stew (Piexi a Lumbo) paired with Fawnridge Chardonnay, and an Italian-style Calzone paired with a Rhone-style blend from Lone Buffalo Vineyards. In addition to the food and wine pairings, guests will have the opportunity to sample more than 35 wines from ten or so local wineries.
Participating wineries include Baumbach, Dono dal Cielo, Fawnridge, Casque Wines, Lone Buffalo, Mt. Vernon and Vina Castellano. Tickets to the event are $25 per person and include unlimited food and wine pairings. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Latitudes restaurant, or at the door on the day of the event. Ticket holders can also take advantage of special discounts on event-day wine purchases. Latitudes is located at 130 Maple Street in Auburn.
