The Placer County Wine Trail presents The Grape Days of Summer on Saturday August 6, 2011 and Sunday August 7, 2011 from 11:00am-5:00pm.
Make it a weekend of spectacular wine tasting this year featuring wines of the Mediterranean!
This open-house event is hosted by Placer County Vintners Association (PCVA) and located on the Placer County Wine Trail (through Lincoln, Auburn & Newcastle). The event allows guests to enjoy wine tasting and small plates of food at all wineries along with music and educational experiences along the trail. In addition to each wineries general wine tasting line-up, each winery will feature a Mediterranean wine and provide educational information about the varietal. This is something this region has never offered before. Join in on the fun, and taste some great award winning, small production wines, while you learn something from the winemakers themselves.
The $25 (in advance), $35 (at the door) ticket covers wine tastes at all participating wineries, food, music, and educational activities, raffle prizes, plus a special event wine glass good for both days. Designated Driver Tickets are also available.
Participating Wineries: Casque (featuring Rousanne and food from Cafe Zorro), Dono dal Cielo (featuring Zinfandel and food from The Chef's Table Yeah!), Fawnridge (featuring Barbera), Lone Buffalo (featuring Tempranillo and food from Source Global Tapas :) also one of my faves!!), Mt. Vernon (featuring Port), Vina Castellano (featuring Verdejo), Wise Villa (featuring Syrah and food from Cafe Zorro).
Don't miss out. This is a great event and there are some really great wines in our own backyard!! The Grape Days of Summer allows you to try them all and find your favorites. There are special hotel/ticket packages located here. You can buy individual tickets here.
