National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) has partnered with Robert Sanders, a local artist who believes in giving back to the community, to hold a benefit auction, to Unwrap the Truth about Ovarian Cancer. The NOCC’s goal is to raise awareness for this “difficult to detect and treat” disease which causes more deaths than any other cancer of the female reproductive system.
The exhibit titled “For Love of Woman” opens Friday, August, 26th, at Beatnik Studios at 17th and Broadway in Sacramento with a gala event starting at 7:00 pm. The auction/exhibit then continues through September, which is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
Robert has put together a photographic expose that invites the audience to visually embrace the splendor of all women. Each piece in the exhibit tells a unique story, highlighting the individual beauty of woman, their triumphs, the burdens they carry, the sacrifice they endure, and their unique strength.
Bids can be placed at the Gallery or on-line after Opening Night, with the winners being notified on Sept 30. With a solo show of over 35 framed pieces of photographic art, thousands of dollars will be raised to help the NOCC in their quest to eventually cure this disease.
