Very COSMO-politan!

Last night was the opening party at the Cosmo to benefit the California History Museum. The cafe and nightclub/cabaret is a beautiful addition to K street. They'll be kicking off the cabaret portion of the establishment with a musical called Forever Plaid on September 28th.

The bar…

The kitchen/serving window…

Board Chair Dina Eastwood, Assemblymember Dave Jones, Richard Costigan, Donna Lucas, Barbara O'Connor, Kitty O'Neal, R.E. Graswich, Anne-Marie Petrie, and Daniel Zingale were all in attendance, as well as Tom Sullivan who was still in town from New York. (He hosted the Perspectives event on Friday at the convention center.

White shrimp wrapped in prosciutto. Yum.

House cured salmon pastrami with rye toasts and deviled egg. This dish will be available at the restaurant.

Beef with onion jam and bleu cheese on toast.

The best dessert is shown here, and was a confection close to a Rice Krispy Treat, only 100 times better. It was made with white chocolate and topped with dark chocolate by the one and only, Kitty O'Neal, wife of Kurt Spataro and afternoon program host on KFBK. I asked her about them and she remarked, "I'm glad you liked them, but I didn't make enough." They were spectacular, I have to say.

Can't wait to order off the full menu, because the preview of tastes were very promising, and the service was excellent. It was a very enjoyable evening.
