Fundraiser Today at the New California Pizza Kitchen in Downtown Sacramento!

All Dine-In Pizza Sales to be Donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters

In celebration of its grand opening in downtown Sacramento, CA, California Pizza Kitchen will donate 100% of all of today’s dine-in pizza sales to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sacramento.

The event runs from 11am to 10pm tonight.

The new California Pizza Kitchen is located 1132 16th Street in The Firestone Building at 16th & L, One block east of Capitol Mall Park, near the Sacramento Convention Center.

I dined at the new CPK recently, and here are some shots of some menu items I tried:


Singapore Shrimp Rolls


Shrimp, baby broccoli, soy-glazed Shiitake mushrooms, spinach, carrots, rice noodles, bean sprouts, green onion and cilantro wrapped in rice paper. Served chilled with a sesame-ginger dipping sauce and Szechuan slaw.



The Original BBQ Chicken Chopped


Chopped lettuce, black beans, sweet corn, jicama, cilantro, basil, crispy corn tortilla strips and Monterey Jack cheese topped with chopped BBQ chicken breast, diced tomatoes and green onions served with our herb ranch dressing and BBQ sauce on the side. Also available with fresh avocado.



Pear & Gorgonzola Pizza


Caramelized pears, Gorgonzola, Fontina and Mozzarella cheeses, caramelized sweet onions and chopped hazelnuts hearth-baked. Served with field greens and Gorgonzola ranch dressing on the side.
