July Events at R.H. Phillips!

Hey everyone, I wanted to write and let you know about a few events going on in July at the winery. If you haven't made it out yet, please do so before we're gone. The tasting room will be gone forever very soon. I feel a close attachment to the R.H. Phillips brand and the Esparto community, so I will be heading there as much as possible while the tasting room is still open. *don't cry, Kristy* OK, so:

First Saturday Wine & Food Pairing
Begin your Fourth of July celebration with First Saturday at the winery. Come to enjoy your first taste of Toasted Head Untamed Red! It will be served with mini-slider burgers topped with bacon and smoked cheddar cheese. Our version of sweet potato fries, baked not fried, will be served on the side. The food portion and glass of wine are priced at $12.00 per person. No reservations are necessary, but a little but of personal advice from me: it is good to show up earlier than later.

The Untamed Red is a blend of 45% Syrah, 37% Zinfandel, 16% Petite Sirah, 2% Other. It's a little more mellow than the name suggests, but it is perfect for everyday drinking. Pair it with pizza, burgers, bbq. It was a big success last Sunday at the tasting room and we sold multiple bottles.

Movie Night at R.H. Phillips.
The last one will show on July 10th.

They'll project the movie on the side of the barrel building and
have goodies in the tasting room for your enjoyment. Bring your
blanket, lawn chair, picnic foods and have a great time watching

The movie shown will be "A Walk in the Clouds".


The movie is a romantic drama set in the midst of a California winery
after the end of WWII. It tells the story of a man and a woman who find
love despite difficult circumstances. Starring Keanu Reeves and Italian
actress, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, it is rated PG-13, so you may want to leave
younger viewers with a sitter. There is no charge for the movie. Just come
and have fun.

Movie: A Walk in the Clouds
DATE: Friday, July 10th
TIME: 8:30 PM (or whenever it's dark enough)
BRING: Your own picnic foods
COST: Free

Also, if you have not yet tried our Rosé of Syrah, get up to the tasting room and do it! What does it go well with? Well, it's awesome on a HOT day like any day this weekend... Pair it with grilled vegetables, fish, chicken, sushi, stir-fry... It's not a cloying wine, but to me has a bit of tropical fruit on the nose and is even a little tart. Check it out if you have not already!

Lastly, I wanted to let you in on a little sale:
Toasted Head Viognier (think honeysuckle, tangerine, mango––again, perfect for this weather) is onsale in our online store through July 17th for just $11.19/bottle, plus shipping and applicable taxes. This is a savings of $2.80/bottle.
