Auburn Wine & Food Festival is October 9, 2010! Discount tickets available, read this post!!

Auburn will be bustling with tasty food and delightful wines from the Sierra Foothill region at the 8th Annual Auburn Wine and Food Festival, on October 9th, 2010, from 1-5pm.

The annual festival, which is jointly hosted by local Auburn wineries, restaurants and retailers, will be held inside participating shops in both the Historic Downtown and Old Town Business districts.

25 Placer and Nevada County vintners feature their varied wine varietals; from Albariño to Zinfandel. Each winery will be teamed with a local Placer County restaurant or caterer, which will pair appetizer-sized offerings to compliment the featured wine. Visit the Auburn Wine & Food Website to check out all the great restaurants that will be featured!!

25 separate venues, from a quaint garden shop and a local art gallery, to jewelry shops and salons, will host the vintners and culinary experts.

Check-in for the event will begin at 11:00am in Downtown Auburn’s New Central Square on the corner of Lincoln Way and High Street. Vendors with wine related wares including wine aerators, stemware charms, blown glass, silpada jewelry, olive oils and hand turned wood wine stoppers are just a few unique items that will be present at this location. Music will be featured at both Central Square and in the heart of Old Town Auburn during the event.

Tasting closes at 5:00pm, however wine sales and a raffle featuring offerings from each vintner will take place between 5:00 and 6:00pm at the central square fire pit. Guests are invited to stay after the event to enjoy the nightlife and entertainment at the local pubs and restaurants.

Tickets are available for $35 before October 1st at www.auburnwineandfood.com as well as at participating wineries. Tickets will be available on a first come basis the day of the event at the Central Square check-in location for $45. Designated Driver “Food Only” tickets are available for $20.

Remember, ticket prices go up on October 1st, and there is a raffle that ticket buyers are entered into for every ticket purchased. You will remain in the raffle basket until the event.  So, the earlier you buy your tickets, the more chances you have to win!!

Since I am all about discounts, I want to let you also know that my friends at Lone Buffalo have a limited number of tickets available for only $30 each!! Call (916) 663-4486 and mention this website!!

The Auburn Food & Wine Festival will feature my favorite Placer County Wine Trail wineries: Baumbach, Casque, Dono Dal Cielo, Fawnridge, Lone Buffalo, Mt. Vernon, Vina Castellaño. They're only a quick drive from anywhere in Sacramento, often have live music or events on Saturdays and Sundays, and would love to welcome you. Just give them a call before you stop by!
