Tonight is the circus with the Children's Home. I haven't been to the circus since I was about 5... I hope I get some good pictures. :)

hey cakegirl, it is anonymoose here again - you know from the JB/TP concert conversation.........i just wanted to say how awesome of you to take these kids to the circus! Talk about extending good karma. Really gives me a good feeling to hear when people do such good things! Hope you all have a blast!
Thanks. I had a great time and the kids did, too. I toured their facility today when I dropped off the tix. I am going to be volunteering for them at some point in the future. I can say that the facility is livable, but its sort of like a camp... It could be nicer if they had more $$. Everything is second-hand and I felt extremely guilty because I sooo had it made growing up compared to any of these kids. I just want some of them to be happy and have a happy life and dream big.

Well I would say you helped them to get that much closer to all of this by your actions. They will remember last night always, you know that dont you? You are helping to build good memories for them.
I have also thought about helping out there. I suppose I should do more than think about it.
How did you manage with all of them? Did you actually take them or did you meet them all there?

I dropped off the tickets the day of the show and then met them there with a few other people I had invited. :) I would have gone with them, but from the initial time I contacted them and the period of time to the show, there was not enough time to expedite a background check, etc, which they do on all volunteers that come to the facility to work.
