More Saturday dinner stuff: I went to See's last night. I chose their Dark Chocolate Chip truffle to pair with the port I am getting. I cut out the polenta (for the lamb & polenta lasagne) last night in little flower shapes with a scone/biscuit cutter. I am not making this lasagne in a pan...but rather, cooking the components seperately and assembling them as servings in the pan--then placing the servings under the broiler to heat through. I am toying with the idea of getting another blow torch--the one I have doesn't want to work properly.

One last idea (I just had) to serve with the mole sauce I made is to dredge some fresh pumpkin in some of the masa (maybe season that with adobo first) and fry it up...then plate it and decorate the plate with the mole sauce...

Tonight I was invited to a new restaurant opening. Should be interesting. I'll be sure to bring my camera and take some (crappy) pics... ha!

1) Oooh, a restaurant opening! I am filled with jealousy and envy yet again (your blog seems to do that to me quite often). Why are all the fun events on weeknights?!

2) Come to Davis and I treat you to some sweet truffles at Ciocolat.

3) We should bake sometime.

4) I have been hankering sushi. We need to make a sushi date in addition to the 58 degree date. Rob, the tasteless bastard, hates sushi so we never go out for it.

Mmm, See's. We don't have any nearby, but my favorite is that Rum Nougat one. You know, the one everyone always reaches for in the box?? LOL. It's good!

Can't wait to hear about the new restaurant!

Yes yes yes on the sushi date. G., how dare you bbf (bastard boyfriend) not like sushi.

And I, too, am filled with restaurant opening envy. Do give us details, grrl.

MMMk, then. I think we need to visit my buddies at Miyagi on Fair Oaks.
Don't be jealous... the food was not impressive, though... I have to say...the "complimentary" drinks were! OMG.
Details tomorrow I think. My brain is oatmeal sludge right now.
