Stag's Leap District Showcases 19 Appellation Wineries at Annual V2V Event

“On the Trail for World Class Cabernet”

Join the Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association at its annual Vineyard to Vintner: On the Trail for World Class Cabernet event (V2V) on Saturday, April 24, 2010. The annual V2V celebration promises to be a day of discovery and adventure, complete with 19 private winery open houses and culminating in a vintner-hosted dinner at the historic Clos Du Val winery.

The day commences with an exclusive Looking Back, Leaping Ever Forward Tasting Seminar focused on the 1999 and 2005 vintages at Silverado Vineyards. Leslie Sbrocco, celebrated wine writer and television host, will lead a rare interview and tasting of six Stags Leap District cabernets with three of the Napa Valley’s most esteemed master winemakers: Elizabeth Vianna of Chimney Rock Winery, Jon Emmerich of Silverado Vineyards and Elias Fernandez of Shafer Vineyards.

Guests can then experience the 19 beautiful wineries located within the appellation firsthand at V2V’s On The Trail Open Houses, enjoying personal access to vintners and winemakers as they showcase their caves, barrels and cellars for special tours and tastings unavailable to the public.

The Saturday event culminates with the Soiree Cabernet Dinner at Clos Du Val. Join vintners for an exclusive preview tasting of the upcoming 2006 Appellation Collection followed by an intimate sit down dinner hosted by Stags Leap District winemakers and vintners.

New this year, guests will have an opportunity to enjoy a series of bonus complimentary tastings on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at participating wineries.

Guests may participate in any, or all, of the Vineyard to Vintner events. The Looking Back, Leaping Ever Forward Tasting Seminar will take place at Silverado Vineyards from 10 am to 11 am at a cost of $60.00; limited seating requires advance registration and purchase of open house tickets. The private On the Trail Open Houses at the District wineries will feature exclusive wine and food offerings running from 11am to 4pm for $135.00. The Soiree Cabernet Dinner is scheduled from 6:30 pm to 10 pm. Tickets for this exclusive preview tasting reception and vintner hosted dinner are $285.00 per person and include access to the daytime open houses. Complimentary bonus tastings are available to V2V participants on Sunday, April 24th from 11 am to 4 pm at ten different member wineries.
