OK. So, last night I went to a meeting of a group called the Sweet Adelines.
It's a women’s singing group specializing in four-part harmony, acappella singing, barbershop style. They sing anything from jazz, blues and ballads to Broadway Show tunes. Maybe it's a bit cheesy, but I love this kind of stuff. And, since I don't have a real hobby in which I actually have to interact with other people, I thought this might be good for me to do.
The group will be performing on Friday and Saturday at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. It's an international competition with choirs from all around the world. All acappella. Wow... I am getting tickets to the show on Saturday night.
It was so great to randomly show up at a rehearsal last night and feel so welcomed by 50 women you have never met before. I got to warm up with them, and then listen to the songs they will be competing with this weekend.
I have to audition in three or four weeks. I like that one has to audition, though. I just hope I make it!
