Grocery List

There's a thread going on the diet web site I belong to right now, I thought I would make for a good post, so here it goes. This is my current grocery shopping list. This is what I am eating now. I am quite a bit more comfortable eating all my meals at home now. Even though in Sacramento it's more hip than ever to be eating/drinking at all the new places. Meh... I really work too hard to do that or that, and I end up being unhappy practically every time I dine out. Am I a cranky old fogey already? Check that as a "yes", I suppose.

I can't remember the last time I had fast food, unless I count the take out from Opa Opa! sometime over a week ago (what I had (greek salad--NO DRESSING, HAD WITH BALSAMIC VINEGAR & FETA/OLIVES ON THE SIDE PLEASE) and a few bites of the bf's gyro he ordered) was delicious to me)...I am not sure why people hate it so much other than the fact it is SO EXPENSIVE for the amount you get portion wise... before that, my last meal from outside the house was Taste of Thai (Garlic Shrimp--take out so I could DUMP THE RICE (FORBIDDEN) and serve over some SHIRATAKI NOODLES instead) a week prior to Opa Opa!

Anyway... I am not buying anything with sugar added or processed white flour anymore. Certainly not anything with HFCS. These are definitely my trigger foods. I am like an addict with this crap.

I get really angry with a lot of "diet" products that are loaded with HFCS to make them lower in fat. I would five times rather have the fat.

So, now I am thinking... who cares what is on my grocery list? Then I thought, maybe someone else out there is on a diet and needs a little inspiration.

Cakegrrl's Grocery List...
1. Lite Tofu
2. Frozen Strawberries and Raspberries
3. Fat-Free Cottage Cheese
4. Dannon Light n Fit Yogurt
5. Splenda or other sweetener
6. Fiber One Cereal
7. Canned Pumpkin
8. Fat Free Cream Cheese
9. Shirataki Noodles
10. Fuse Slenderizer - Love the Tropical Punch especially...
11. Hanson's Diet Ginger Ale
12. La Tortilla Factory Lo Carb Tortillas
13. Sugar Free Cool Whip
14. Shrimp
15. Broccoli
16. Cauliflower
17. Red Onions
18. Squash = Spaghetti and Butternut
19. Jello Fat Free Sugar Free Pudding
20. Lettuce
21. Cabbage
22. Chicken Broth
23. Oatmeal
24. Eggplant Hummus from Trader Joe's
25. Tomato Paste
26. Diced Tomatoes (canned)
27. Soy Sauce
28. Smucker's Sugar Free Jam
29. Sugar Free Barbeque Sauce
30. Almond Breeze Unsweetened Almond Milk
31. Mushrooms
32. Mustard
33. Balsamic Vinegar
34. Olive Oil Spray

I am still looking for a good nut butter option with NO SUGAR and low in cals. What I have done in the past is mix one teaspoon of natural peanut butter with two tablespoons fat free cream cheese. That's actually quite delicious, so I might start buying almond butter and doing that because it has higher nutritional value. The PB2 arrived last Friday, and though it is delicious, it contains added sugar. Can't/won't have it. Gah....

I love grocery lists. It can't be good to be this obsessed with food... :-)

Trader Joe's has a really good almond butter, as does Whole Foods (their 365 brand.) Have you tried Trader Joe's "Very Cherry" bag of frozen berries & cherries? YUMMY.

I'm also hooked on the Hansen's Diet Ginger Ale.

how much weight have you lost to be this obsessed?

E & S,
That's kind of a weird question to ask... I think the word "tact" is missing from your personal lexicon.

If I am "obsessed" then that is a good thing. More people need to be like me.
Watch and learn, sweetheart.

Thanks for the shirataki tip--I found some at Raley's yesterday made w/ yam flour. If they're any good, I'll let ya know.
For pb, I just use the good ol' natural stuff and dump off about half the oil and use sparingly. Still a decent source of protein per cals I suppose.
I love grocery lists, too, has anyone seen that lost grocery list website? Hilarious.
