Wow… My First Day at R.H. Phillips

It is with great excitement and enthusiasm to let all of you know what a wonderful day I had at R.H. Phillips in Esparto.

I was recently hired as a special events chef and I absolutely LOVED my first day at work. YAY!

Display inside the tasting room.

Here is the beautiful kitchen and dining area. It is attached to the tasting room. The gal in the photo is my coworker.

Here is what I made for the small luncheon:

Duo of Melon Soup

Heirloom Tomato Salad with Gorgonzola Cheese

Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Fig Reduction Sauce
Orzo Salad with Onion, Summer Squash and Cherry Tomatoes

I felt so lucky to be there. In California. At a winery. In the vineyards. Picking figs that would actually go IN the sauce I was making. In a real kitchen.

If you have never been up to R.H. Phillips, I strongly suggest you make the trip. It's only about 45 minutes from Sacramento. It's beautiful. The people are friendly. They have tables at which to picnic. For more information you can call them at (530) 662-3215. The tasting room and gift shop are open Wednesday through Sunday from 11am–5pm.
