Celebration of Hope at The Esquire Imax Theatre, November 10th

The Down Syndrome Information Alliance will feature a program designed to promote independence and acceptance of individuals with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities with its fourth annual Celebration of Hope.

The special slideshow/presentation of photos from the book Dreams in Reality will provide an inside look at the lives of adults with Down syndrome in our community. During the slideshow presentation the audience will meet Jeremy, who teaches golf lessons; Carl, who works at PRIDE Industries and has been bowling for more than 30 years; and Taren who works at Best Buy and attends Sierra College.

The silent auction will feature one-of-a-kind items and live auction items will promise to engender bidding wars. A reception will feature appetizers and a no-host bar. The evening will conclude with a journey to space with a 3-D showing of Space Station.

The evening will be hosted by Good Day Sacramento’s Mark S. Allen.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by going to www.downsyndromeinfo.org.

The DSIA works to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome in all aspects of our community. Proceeds will provide Down Comforter Packages to new and expectant parents and send people with Down syndrome to their annual convention (held in Sacramento in 2009).
